Love Conquers All

My story...... and God's Restoration Power.

Praying Together

When it comes to moral failures (sin) I speak the truth, I betrayed my wife and family and caused hurts that only Jesus himself can heal. The anguish all felt was unfathomable. I lost everything dear to me. Lost the most important individuals/relationships in my life.

My shame/regret was unbearable and almost took my down. I destroyed everything that I loved and held dear. Sought restoration/support from the local church I attended. Yet, the church (like many) did not have anything organized or structured for Christians going through a many offered prayer (James 5:16) “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

I will take these prayers every day. What I needed humanly speaking was a brother or sister who could walk by myside, in faith, with scripture support and tough love. One who could understand/relate to the pain I caused and felt. I quickly realized the church does not know such resources to serve the divorced community within the body of Christ. This is not a knock on the Church, for the Church serves so many and so many wonderful causes.

For the next couple of years, I was emotionally spent and utterly spiritually adrift. Lost all my loved ones and felt I lost my relationship with God as well. Cried out to the Lord asking to turn back the clock, to get a do over, to no avail.

Then, one night I heard the Lord whisper in my ear, my favorite bible verse (Proverbs 3:5-6) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

This precious verse of scripture led me to his loving arms, years ago, as he healed my broken heart from the loss of my stillborn baby girl. Proverbs 3:5-6 stands as this website’s URL name (www.prv356.org) and its’ foundational scripture.

For so long I was too ashamed to re-receive His daily Forgiveness, Mercy, and Grace, by faith. (1 John 1:9) says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Did you hear that? To cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness (moral failures and sins)! Additionally, God promises to wipe out our sins and refresh us (restore us to Him) if we repent as well. (Act 3:19 NIV) “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,.”

Give God the opportunity to finish what he has begun (Philippians 1:6) “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
